Right now is the moment I realized I have an aperture function on my camera and that I've completely forgotten about it. Really. I don't think I've touched it for a few months now.
Fail.
Shutter speed = controls ambient lighting
Aperture = controls flash exposure
This is according to this photography video I've been meaning to watch for months now. Oh yeah. I also didn't mention that I've been messing around with this old off-camera flash Edgar found in his garage. It's a Quantaray, which is apparently a Ritz Camera brand. I don't think they make these babies anymore -- it doesn't even swivel left or right! But it's better than spending $500 on a Speedlite, I guess.
What an expensive hobby photography can be.
